Lavender and Sea Salt Chocolate chip Cookies
Sea Salt and Lavender Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/4 cup lavender sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 T turbinado (raw) sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons AP flour
1/2 tsp sea salt, plus more for sprinkling (Maldon, or fleur de sel)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup chocolate chips
In a bowl, mix the sugars with the melted butter and stir with a spatula or whisk until smooth. Add in the egg and stir until smooth. Add in the vanilla and mix again. Add in the flour, salt and baking soda. Mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375F. Place rounded spoonfuls onto a lined baking sheet (cookies will spread out). Sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of flaky sea salt. Bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring to a cooling rack or enjoying.
