Dreamy Cheddar Herb Biscuits: ✨ Easy recipe
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp sugar
Pinch of good salt
4 T butter, cold and cubed
1/3-1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 grated cheddar
1 tsp thyme leaves
1 tsp sage or other herbs chopped
*for topping 1 T melted butter, pinch of each salt, pepper, garlic powder and chopped thyme leaves
Preheat the oven to 425F. In a bowl, mix together the flour sugar and salt and cut in the butter using a fork or pastry scraper, until crumbly. Add the buttermilk and fold in the cheese and herbs. Do not over mix.
Place rounded tablespoonfuls (I use a 2T scoop) on a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet at least 1" apart. Bake 10 minutes or until golden and top with melted butter topping. Makes approximately ten 2" biscuits.
