These super easy Tropical Popsicles are a favorite in my house. My toddler doesn't drink a whole lot of juice but these prove to be a fun treat for her. Using silicone ice cube molds from IKEA, mini wooden sticks and tropical fruit juice, these toddler size portions are perfect for little hands and are sure to be enjoyed before they melt!
IKEA sells really cute ice cube molds for $0.99 here: IKEA ice cube tray
I bought two of the flower looking molds and a bag of mini wooden craft sticks from Walmart.
You may use any juice or juice blend that your child will enjoy. A favorite of ours is Simply Juice in the tropical flavor. The small bottle of juice (11.5oz) will perfectly fill two of the IKEA silicone molds but you are welcome to use any ice cube mold you like.
Fill the ice cube molds with juice and carefully transfer to the freezer. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Check the progress of freezing with a stick to see if it will stand up. If so place a stick in each juice cube. Freezers vary so it may take more time for some of them to freeze. Just reset a time for 5-10 minutes and continue to add the sticks as they are slushy and will stand. Don't worry if they aren't perfectly straight. I always use a timer as a reminder because it's easy to forget about them once they are in the freezer, especially with a toddler running around.
Allow the juice to freeze completely before removing the popsicles from the molds and storing in a freezer safe air tight container or ziplock bag.
*Always remember to supervise your child with the popsicle sticks and make sure they are properly disposed of after use to prevent choking.
